Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a rare species of unclear relationship, with minute blackish apothecia and asci with 8-12 small ascospores; on wood, including fences; in the study area so far only known from the Eastern Alps (Austria).
