Altitudinal range: from the mesomediterranean belt (potential vegetation: evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus ilex) to the nival belt (above the lower limit of perennial snow and glaciers)
Note: a mainly mild-temperate lichen found on limestone, more rarely on dolomite, sometimes on nutrient-enriched, base-rich siliceous rocks, with optimum in open woodlands but present also inside conurbations, with a wide altitudinal range; widespread throughout the Alps.
