Note: a species with a thallus swelling considerably when moistened, the broad lobes showing a wrinkled upper surface provided with nodular isidia and marginal lobules, the lower surface with short hairs, looking almost like a pruina; on the subneutral bark of deciduous trees, also overgrowing bryophytes; a rare species in Western Europe, with a few records from the Western Alps (France).
