Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: this species recalls in habitus A. galactites, but has much larger ascospores. It is has a Mediterranean-Atlantic distribution in coastal situations with humid maritime winds, generally on Juniperus, but also on Olea and Quercus ilex; in the study area it is rare and restricted to low altitudes in the Western Alps, near the Mediterranean coast, on the smooth bark of broad-leaved trees.
