Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a species with white thalli exceeding 5 cm in diam. reacting K+ yellow then red (diagnostic against B. saxorum) and C+ red, a I+ violet medulla, sessile apothecia, and ascospores of the Physconia-type; on hard siliceous rocks in both coastal and inland habitats; in the study area so far known only from the base of the Western Pre-Alps.
