Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a strain with a thallus of a bright yellow colour, found in Mediterranean lowlands close to the sea, including the base of the Western Alps (France); distribution as the typical variety, but rarer.
