Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)

Note: a rare species of the L. subfusca-group, peculiar in having large, thick-walled ascospores; apparently restricted to the bark of coniferous trees in humid montane forests; in the study area so far known from the Eastern Alps only.
