Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: similar to C. lacinulatum, but pycnoconidia rod-shaped; on soil in steppe-like vegetation; based on a type from Mongolia and apparently widespread in Asia, with a single record from the montane belt of the Western Alps (France), on gypsaceous soil.
