Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a non-lichenised species perhaps belonging to Chaetosphaeriales, with a spreading, black, subiculum-like thallus, minute ascomata, 8-spored asci, and hyaline, ellipsoid to fusiform, 3-septate ascospores (8-10 μm long); on Acer pseudoplatanus, only known from the type locality in the Eastern Alps (Austria).
