Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species with 3-dystoseptate, large macroconidia (c. 15-20 µm long) which are diagnostic, found in Graphidion communities on the smooth bark of deciduous trees within old-growth forests, in areas with high precipitations; widespread in Western Europe but not common, with a single locality in the Eastern Alps.
