Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a non-lichenised species perhaps belonging to Pleosporales, with a thallus forming blackish patches composed of tightly adpressed hyphae, minute ascomata, 8-spored asci, and hyaline, ellipsoid to fusiform, 1- to 3-septate ascospores (8-10 μm long); on the trunk of Ficus, only known from the type locality in the Eastern Alps (Italy).
