Substrate: siliceous rocks

Altitudinal range: from the mesomediterranean belt (potential vegetation: evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus ilex) to the submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)

Note: a mild-temperate lichen found on basic siliceous rocks, more rarely on brick and roofing tiles, in warm-humid areas, sometimes starting the life-cycle on Ochrolechia parella; most frequent in the Southern Alps, at low elevations.
