Altitudinal distribution: mesomediterranean belt (potential vegetation: evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus ilex)
Note: a species with an endolithic to whitish, strongly reduced thallus, sessile, orange apothecia of biatorine appearance due to a strongly developed parathecium, and ascospores with internal thickenings measuring c. half of the total length; on limestone close to the seashore, widespread along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, including the base of the Western Alps.
