Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species recalling G. pruinosa, but the effigurate marginal lobes lemon-yellow, and ascospores simple, with pointed ends; based on a type from Spain and also recorded from Greece; on soil or encrusting calcicolous bryophytes, with a few lowland records from the Western Alps.
