Altitudinal range: from the submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus) to the nival belt (above the lower limit of perennial snow and glaciers)
Note: an arctic-alpine to boreal-montane, circumpolar lichen found on steeply inclined to slightly underhanging surfaces of siliceous rocks, often in somehow dusty situations; widespread and common throughout the Alps.
