Calicium pinastri Tibell
Lichenised.
Substrate: bark, lignum
Altitudinal range: from the submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus) to the subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron)
Note: a species with a thin, grey thallus, short-stalked, minute, epruinose apothecia, cylindrical asci, and ascospores with irregular cracks, found on the bark of conifers (most often Pinus sylvestris); recently-described and still with a few records from the Alps, but probably more widespread.
