Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a cryptothalline species with convex apothecia and 3-septate, brown ascospores; obligately parasitic on Diploschistes diacapsis over gypsum or calcareous soils in arid sites; known from some scattered localities in the Mediterranean Region and from an outpost in Southern Norway, with a few records from low elevations in the Western Alps (France).
