Lichenised.
Substrate: acidic soil (mostly on siliceous substrata)
Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: on calciferous soil and on mosses in sheltered situations, but in sunny and arid habitats, also on gypsum; in the study area so far only reported from the base of the Western Alps.
