Altitudinal distribution: subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron)

Note: a name applied to morphs with apothecia soon becoming convex, whose taxonomic status is uncertain, found under overhangs of siliceous rocks; distribution poorly known.
