Altitudinal distribution: mesomediterranean belt (potential vegetation: evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus ilex)
Note: on a very wide variety of rocks, incl. brick walls, sometimes on littoral shrubs, in rather sheltered situations, and in habitats subject to frequent, salt-laden maritime winds; in the study area so far known only from the base of the Western Alps.
