Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species with a whitish grey to bluish grey, sorediate to leprose thallus, ascomata unknown, but conspicuous, black, semi-immersed pycnidia with elongate cylindrical conidiogenous cells and narrowly ellipsoid conidia usually present; on bark of trees in areas with a humid climate; so far only known from the Eastern Alps (Austria).
