Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a species of unclear relationships, only known in the sterile state, forming small, greenish, verrucose thalli with isidiate-sorediate papillae on the thalli of Diploschistes scruposus, mostly on sandstone at low elevations; so far only known from the Western Alps (France).
