Substrate: siliceous rocks
Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species with globose ascomata lacking paraphyses, and ellipsoid ascospores (to 7 µm long); on sandstone and similar rocks in the montane belt; only known from the Eastern Alps (Austria).
