Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species of unclear relationship, with an indistinct thallus, ascomata immersed in the rock (to c. 0.3 mm in diam.), interascal filaments apparently persistent and with some ramifications, and broadly ovoid ascospores (to 27 µm long); on pebbles in a creek, only known from the type locality in the Western Alps (France).
