Note: a species resembling V. dolomitica, with a very thin, epilithic, whitish thallus, slightly to hemispherically protruding, black perithecia, a thin involucrellum in the upper half, and ellipsoid to oblong ascospores (to c. 32 µm long); only known from the type locality in the Eastern Alps (Germany).
