Substrate: calciferous rocks
Altitudinal range: from the subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron) to the alpine belt (potential vegetation: treeless Alpine grasslands and tundras, to the lower limit of perennial snow and the equilibrium line of glaciers)
Note: on inclined surfaces of calciferous schists near or above treeline; a species described from South Tyrol and also reported from the French Alps (Roux et coll. 2014). According to Breuss (see Nimis 2016) it is closely related to Parabagliettoa dufourii, differing in the larger spores, and should be included in Parabagliettoa.
