Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a rare species growing on sheltered, shaded surfaces of compact calcareous rocks at relatively low elevations; in the study area so far known only from the base of the Western Alps.
