Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a coloniser of small stones and pebbles in moist and shaded situations; so far reported from a few scattered localities in the Alps, but perhaps more widespread.
