Altitudinal range: from the submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus) to the montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species with a whitish grey, pruinose thallus, entirely immersed apothecia with punctiform discs, 4- to -8-spored asci, and medium-sized muriform ascospores; on calcareous rocks; widespread in the Mediterranean region and other parts of the world with a similar climate (e.g. Southern Australia); in the Alps only known from some southern localities, such as dry valleys.
