Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a poorly known species with a thin, olive-green, subgranular thallus forming patches to 1.5 cm in diam., ascomata to c. 0.25 mm in diam., a hemispherical involucrellum spreading and covered by a thin thalline layer, the perithecial wall dark (to c. 150 µm in diam.), persisting and poorly ramified interascal filaments, and 1-septate ascospores (to c. 20 µm long) with a somewhat wider upper cell; on temporarily submerged calcareous schists, only known from the type locality in the Eastern Alps (Germany).
