Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: this species is characterised by sessile ascomata, but contrary to A. conoidea var. suzae, has a basally closed (entire) involucrellum; the type material is from the Sudety Mts., and the distribution is poorly known.
