Aspicilia polychroma Anzi subsp. hypertrophica Cl. Roux
Syn.: Aspicilia polychroma Anzi subsp. hypertrophica Asta & Cl. Roux [invalidly published], Aspicilia polychroma Anzi var. kalireagens Asta & Cl. Roux [invalidly published]
Lichenised.
Substrate: intermediate rocks (such as calciferous schists)
Altitudinal range: from the subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron) to the alpine belt (potential vegetation: treeless Alpine grasslands and tundras, to the lower limit of perennial snow and the equilibrium line of glaciers)
Note: this lichen, differing from the typical subspecies in the well-developed thallus containing variable amounts of atranorin, grows on sunny surfaces of weakly calciferous siliceous rocks, often with Lecanora albula; taxon based on a type from the Pyrenees; from the Alps there are only a few scattered records.
