Sarcogyne regularis Körb. var. regularis

Syn.: Biatorella regularis (Körb.) Lettau, Sarcogyne pruinosa auct. non (Ach.) Mudd
Lichenised.
Substrate: calciferous rocks, intermediate rocks (such as calciferous schists)
Altitudinal range: from the mesomediterranean belt (potential vegetation: evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus ilex) to the nival belt (above the lower limit of perennial snow and glaciers)
Note: a very variable, perhaps heterogeneous, holarctic-subcosmopolitan calcicolous species which needs a revision based on molecular data. It is common both in urban areas (e.g. on mortar walls) and in natural situations, mostly in lichen-poor stands, with a very wide altitudinal range; widespread throughout the Alps.
