Substrate: siliceous rocks
Altitudinal distribution: subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron)
Note: a species characterised by a combination of hyaline rhizohyphae and dark brown pigmented ascomatal walls; known only from the type collection in Italy, on soil in fissures of serpentine.
