Altitudinal distribution: mesomediterranean belt (potential vegetation: evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus ilex)
Note: a mainly Mediterranean lichen found on smooth bark in open maquis and garrigue vegetation; confused with L. chlarotera in the past, but certainly not common, even in the Mediterranean region, including a few records from the base of the Western Alps.
