Protoparmelia badia (Hoffm.) Hafellner var. cinereobadia (Harm.) Clauzade & Cl. Roux ex Hafellner & Türk

Syn.: Lecanora badia (Hoffm.) Ach. var. cinereobadia Harm.
Lichenised. Poorly known taxon.
Substrate: siliceous rocks
Altitudinal range: from the montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies) to the nival belt (above the lower limit of perennial snow and glaciers)
Note: a name used for morphs with an ash-grey thallus, but the application of the name was probably not consistent with the original concept (taxon described for grey morphs with a thick, rough thallus, medulla reacting KC+ orange-red, and apothecia mostly smaller than 1 mm in diam.); data on ecology and distribution are therefore difficult to interpret.
