Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species with a thin, whitish thallus and small, blackish apothecia containing 16-spored asci with narrowly ellipsoid ascospores, based on a type from Sweden; on bark of coniferous trees in montane forests, with a single record from the Western Alps (Switzerland).
