Altitudinal distribution: subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron)
Note: a calcicolous species of unclear relationship, resembling C. lenticularis, but with branched and anastomosing paraphyses; only known from the type locality.
