Substrate: bark
Altitudinal distribution: subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron)
Note: a not generally accepted taxon with a sorediate thallus and apothecia with a pale hypothecium, based on a type from Siberia, where it was found encrusting bryophytes and plant debris; ecology and distribution are poorly known, with a single record from the Eastern Alps (Austria).
