Altitudinal range: from the submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus) to the nival belt (above the lower limit of perennial snow and glaciers)
Note: an arctic-alpine to boreal-montane, circumpolar lichen found on mineral-rich rocks, also under overhanging faces, on pebbles and large boulders, often on metal-rich substrata and in rather disturbed habitats.
