Note: a species with a thin, pale violet thallus bordered by black lines, half-immersed perithecia (to 0.6 mm in diam.) with the wall black throughout, and ellipsoid ascospores (to c. 33 µm long); on calcareous sandstone and similar rock types at low elevations; known from some scattered records in S Europe; the records from high elevations in Austria are very dubious.
