Substrate: calciferous rocks
Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a calcicolous species with a thin, brownish-white, rimose to areolate thallus forming patches to 2 cm in diam., hemispherically protruding ascomata (to 0.3 mm in diam.), an entire involucrellum, and ellipsoid ascospores (to c. 25 µm long); only known from the type locality at the base of the Western Alps (Italy).
