Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a species with an endolithic thallus becoming minutely granulose with age, ascomata (to c. 0.4 mm in diam.) with a flattened ostiolar region not exceeding the thallus, a poorly developed, adpressed involucrellum, and oblong ascospores (to c. 30 µm long); on calcareous conglomerate; only known from the type locality in the Eastern Alps (Italy).
