Altitudinal distribution: subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron)
Note: a species with a thin, smooth, glossy, bronze-coloured thallus, protruding ascomata (to 0.35 mm in diam.), a tightly adpressed involucrellum reaching down to the base of the perithecium, and broadly ellipsoid to subglobose ascospores (to c. 12 µm long); on calcareous stones along a creek, only known from the type locality in Switzerland.
