Bacidia punica Llop

Lichenised. Poorly known taxon.
Substrate: bark
Altitudinal distribution: mesomediterranean belt (potential vegetation: evergreen broad-leaved forests dominated by Quercus ilex)
Note: a recently-described epiphytic species, widespread but not common in shaded-humid situations, with optimum within eu-Mediterranean vegetation, also reported from the base of the Western Alps. It may, however, prove to be a synonym of Bacidina phacodes (see Nimis 2016).
