Altitudinal distribution: montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies)
Note: a species with a thin, spreading, granular, whitish thallus, sessile apothecia with olive discs and darker margins, a dark brown hypothecium, 8-spored asci, and narrowly ellipsoid ascospores; on bark of coniferous trees; so far only recorded from the Eastern Alps in Germany, where it is probably extinct.
