Acarospora pyrenopsoides H. Magn.

Lichenised. Poorly known taxon.
Substrate: siliceous rocks
Altitudinal range: from the submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus) to the alpine belt (potential vegetation: treeless Alpine grasslands and tundras, to the lower limit of perennial snow and the equilibrium line of glaciers)
Note: a taxon probably belonging to the A. nitrophila-group; the small apothecia, several per areola, and the narrowly ellipsoid ascospores are diagnostic; the ecology is poorly known, but the species usually occurs on steep faces and overhangs of siliceous rocks; known from a few localities in the Alps; the type is from Greenland.
