Substrate: calciferous soil
Altitudinal distribution: alpine belt (potential vegetation: treeless Alpine grasslands and tundras, to the lower limit of perennial snow and the equilibrium line of glaciers)
Note: a species with a squamulose, yellow thallus, only known in the sterile state; on decalcified soil over limestone in the alpine belt; so far only known from the type locality in the Eastern Alps.
