Ochrolechia mahluensis Räsänen

Syn.: Ochrolechia androgyna (Hoffm.) Arnold var. pergranulosa Räsänen
Lichenised.
Substrate: bark
Altitudinal range: from the montane belt (potential vegetation: deciduous forests dominated by Fagus sylvatica and closed coniferous forests with Picea abies) to the subalpine belt (potential vegetation: open, taiga-like forests dominated by Larix decidua and/or Pinus cembra and Rhododendron)
Note: a species resembling O. androgyna, but with a thinner, sorediate thallus containing the gyrophoric acid syndrome in soralia and apothecia (thalline cortex therefore C-); usually on the acidic bark of coniferous and deciduous trees in open forests; widespread in Europe, in the Central European mountains mostly in the montane and subalpine belts, in the Alps not consistently distinguished, and distribution therefore poorly known.
Austria: Steiermark;
