Altitudinal distribution: submediterranean/colline belt (potential vegetation: mixed deciduous forests dominated by Quercus and Carpinus)
Note: a calcicolous species with a whitish-grey, spreading, partly endolithic thallus densely covered by minute granules (to 20 µm in diam.), semi-immersed ascomata (to 0.2 mm in diam.) laterally covered with a thin thalline layer, an involucrellum adpressed to the perithecial wall and reaching down less than half the perithecia, and oblong ascospores (less than 20 µm long); only known from the type locality at the base of the Western Alps (Italy).
